Anchor Lodge has evolved over time. The original cottage, which we call The Cabin, was built in 1945 and retains its authentic Up North charm, while incorporating modern amenities.
In 2005, renovation began on the original cottage... moving the kitchen and adding cedar ceilings, yet keeping the origInal floors, fireplace, and knotty pine walls.
In 2007, construction began on the three-story addition visible through the French doors. The addition includes a lodge room, a bar and game area, four bedrooms, an additional full bathroom, and a flex space in the lofted area above the lodge.
(See The Lodge and the Bar, Bedrooms, and Baths + Laundry + Extras tabs for pictures.)
The table sits in the space that was the kitchen in the original house. With extra lights above, it’s not just a great spot to eat, it’s perfect for puzzles, cards, or a game night.
Views of the lake steal the show in the cabin. Rain or shine, the beauty of Mullett Lake is the main feature from any seat.
With the cabin’s remodel, a new split-bathroom was added with a powder room (behind the closed door). A 5’x5’ rain shower and sink share a private area through the door (open in photo), accessed through the first-floor laundry room.
